The app pulls fresh data from the free Open-Meteo API for ten major South African cities, covering temperature, humidity, wind speed, UV index, and rain probability. Beyond the basics, Twinkies adds a smart Dress Advisor that suggests what to wear based on the current weather, an interactive South African map highlighting conditions across the country, and a Travel Planner that builds a multi-stop itinerary with an automatic packing checklist tuned to the forecast along your route.
It's designed for everyday people — students, commuters, travellers, and families — who want a quick, friendly glance at the weather without wading through cluttered screens. A simple °C / °F toggle, dark-mode support, and large touch targets make it comfortable on any phone, tablet, or desktop, and it's optimised to feel native inside a mobile WebView.
